Young Guitarist Competition

Application Process

Applicants will be asked to submit a visual audition, unedited, in NTSC format on DVD with clear audio of their playing. The camera should not be stopped between pieces. Competitors should also include a résumé of musical experience and a color or black-and-white photograph. Audio alone is not acceptable.

The audition, not to exceed 20 minutes, must include all of the following selections in addition to free-choice pieces.

Free Choice Piece(s)

All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2012. Ten competitors will be chosen from the applicants. Competitors will be notified by March 23, 2012. Audition materials will not be returned.

Age Requirements

Applicants to the Parkening Young Guitarist Competition must have been born on or after May 29, 1994. If you are younger than 17 and still wish to apply to the Parkening International Guitar Competition, you may do so.
