Jacob Shaw, Cello

Sunday, April 2, 2017 • 2 PM

Part of The Recital Series

Award-winning British cellist Jacob Shaw has given acclaimed concerts across Europe, the U.S., and Asia with "personal, thoughtful, reflective" performances (Strings Magazine), establishing himself as one of the most prominent young soloists based in Scandinavia. At 19 years old he became the youngest ever cellist to graduate with highest honours from the École Normale de Musique in Paris, and continues to explore the boundaries of what is possible on his instrument, often collaborating with folk, world, indie, electronic and jazz musicians. This particular performance is inspired by folk music; a dynamic and lyrical concert highlighting the huge influence world and folk music has had on traditional western classical music. jacobshaw.de
