Parking for Evening/Weekend Performances in Smothers Theatre

Paid Parking

  • Enter campus through the main gate on Seaver Drive.
  • Continue up Seaver Drive (go past the stop sign at the intersection of Seaver Drive and Banowsky Blvd).
  • Turn left at the parking booth to access Seaver Main Lot ($7 fee; cash only).

 

Free Parking

  • Enter campus through the main gate on Seaver Drive.
  • Continue up Seaver Drive; turn left at the stop sign at the intersection of Seaver Drive and Banowsky Blvd.
  • Turn left at the entrance of the Theme Tower Parking Lot (Parking Lot A on the campus map).*

 

*A free shuttle service is provided to take you from this lot to the theatre area and back again.

 

Parking for Evening/Weekend Performances in Raitt Recital Hall or Lindhurst Theatre 

Parking

  • Enter campus through the main gate on Seaver Drive.
  • Continue up Seaver Drive (go past the stop sign at the intersection of Seaver Drive and Banowsky Blvd).
  • Turn left at the parking booth to access Seaver Main Lot.
  • Free parking for performances in Raitt Recital Hall and Lindhurst Theatre is available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning one hour prior to the performance time.

Daytime/Weekday Parking

Please note that daytime/weekday parking close to the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts is very limited when Seaver College classes are in session. Please allow for extra time.

  • Enter campus through the main gate on Seaver Drive. Upon arriving to campus, please stop at the guard booth to request a visitor parking pass and a coin token.
  • Continue up Seaver Drive (go past the stop sign at the intersection of Seaver Drive and Banowsky Blvd).
  • Turn left at the parking booth; use the coin token to access the visitor's lot in Seaver Main Lot.
  • Smothers Theatre is on the far right end of Seaver Main Lot; the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art is directly to the left of Smothers Theatre.

 

In the event that there are no visitor spots available in Seaver Main Lot, visitors may also park in the following areas:

  • Along Banowsky Blvd or Seaver Drive.
  • Theme Tower Lot (Parking Lot A on the campus map) in a visitor spot, which requires a coin token (provided by the Public Safety Officer at the guard booth) for access.
  • Drescher Graduate Campus (Parking Lots Q, S, T, U, V on the campus map).*
  • Firestone Fieldhouse Parking Lot (Parking Lot P on the campus map).*

 

*due to their distance from Center for the Arts, these parking lots will require using the Pepperdine Shuttle system. A map of Pepperdine's campus can be found here, and the Pepperdine shuttle schedule can be found here.

 

If you are bringing a group to the Center for the Arts for a daytime/weekday event, please contact David Bird, Arts Education Coordinator, at (310) 506-4766. Please provide us with least one (1) week's advance notice so parking space reservations can be made.

Directions

 From Orange County, San Diego and points south of Los Angeles
  • Head north on the I-405, the San Diego Freeway to I-10, the Santa Monica Freeway.
  • Head west on the I-10 toward Santa Monica and the ocean.
  • Follow I-10 until it merges with Pacific Coast Hwy (California Highway 1).
  • Go north on Highway 1 for approximately 14 miles into Malibu. Turn right on Malibu Canyon Road (traffic signal).
  • Turn left at the next traffic signal, which is Seaver Drive.
  • Stop at the information booth for a visitor's pass and parking instructions.
 From points east of Los Angeles
  • Head west on Interstate 10 (I-10 is called the San Bernardino Freeway east of Downtown Los Angeles and the Santa Monica Freeway west of downtown).
  • Follow I-10 until it merges with Pacific Coast Hwy (California Highway 1).
  • Go north on Highway 1 for approximately 14 miles into Malibu.
  • Turn right on Malibu Canyon Road (traffic signal).
  • Turn left at the next traffic signal, which is Seaver Drive.
  • Stop at the information booth for a visitor's pass and parking instructions.
 From the north on Interstate 5
  • Head south on Interstate 5 and continue south on Interstate 405 into the San Fernando Valley.
  • At the Ventura Freeway (U.S.
  • Highway 101) head north toward Ventura.
  • Exit at Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes Road.
  • At the end of the ramp turn left and proceed for 9 miles through Malibu Canyon.
  • Turn right at Seaver Drive (traffic signal) and get a visitor's pass and parking instructions from the information booth.
 From Pasadena/ San Gabriel Valley
  • Go west on the Foothill Freeway (I-210) to Pasadena.
  • At the Highway 134 go west to Glendale and Burbank.
  • At the 101 Freeway go west toward Ventura.
  • Proceed on the 101 Freeway for several miles.
  • Exit at Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes Road.
  • At the end of the ramp turn left and proceed for 9 miles through Malibu Canyon.
  • Turn right at Seaver Drive (traffic signal) and get a visitor's pass and parking instructions from the information booth.
 From the north on Hwy 101/Santa Barbara and Thousand Oaks
  • Exit at Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes Road.
  • At the end of the ramp turn right and proceed for 9 miles through Malibu Canyon.
  • Turn right at Seaver Drive (traffic signal) and get a visitor's pass and parking instructions from the information booth.
 From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Distance: 25 miles
Time: 45 min to one hour

  • From the airport, proceed to I-405, the San Diego Freeway.
  • Head north on I-405 to Interstate 10, the Santa Monica Freeway.
  • Head west on I-10 toward Santa Monica and the ocean. Follow I-10 until it merges with Pacific Coast Hwy (California Highway 1).
  • Go north on Highway 1 for approximately 14 miles into Malibu.
