The Los Angeles-based Pacífico Dance Company has been thrilling audiences with its unique blend of modern and traditional dance for well over a decade. Founder and artistic director Adriana Astorga-Gainey and the group's 40 accomplished dancers and musicians seamlessly weave together elements of modern dance, ballet, and native dances of Mexico as part of their mission to foster an understanding, appreciation, and acceptance of ethnic diversity. pacificodanceco.org
Please be advised: The piece Mujeres de mi Tierra takes inspiration from the female warriors of the Mexican Revolution and uses theatrical elements including prop weaponry and loud gunfire sound effects.
Al Paso de la Mujer
Pacífico explores Mexico's past through the eyes of La Mujer Mexicana (The Mexican woman). This very special performance is dedicated to the women of Mexico for their beauty, strength, and compelling courage that helped shape the Mexico we know today.
