Everybody

Tuesday, September 22–Friday, September 25, 2026 • 7:30 PM | Saturday, September 26, 2026 • 2 PM and 7:30 PM

By Branden Jacobs-Jenkins

Nanci Carol Ruby, Director

In the play Everybody, Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, explores the age-old question, “What is the meaning of life?” This work is a modern-day adaptation of the 15th century morality play, Everyman. The character of “Everyman” is now “Everybody” and which actor will play that role is chosen at random during each performance, demonstrating how uncertain our lives can be. Everybody is a theatrical experience that brings the audience into the story and invites us all to examine our choices and ponder what is possible in this world as we face our own mortality. The theme is not a light one, but in the deft hands of Jacobs-Jenkins this story is hilarious, poignant, and unexpected.

Recommended for 16+ for profanity and theme of impending death.

No late seating allowed. Join a talk back with the actors and director after the Wednesday, September 23 performance.
