Rooted in Alchemy: Senior Thesis Exhibition 2025

Thursday, April 17 – Saturday, May 3, 2025

Opening Celebration: Thursday, April 17, 2025 • 5-8 PM

Rooted in Alchemy features works by fourteen artists graduating as majors or minors from the undergraduate studio art program at Pepperdine University. Participating artists include Annabel Becker, Sydney Carter, Jerica, Olivia Edmunds, Hailey Emmons, Edidiong Etisong-Osung, Ariana Henry, Zoe Macarewa, Alex Melamed, Mary Palumbo, Eden Reitnour, Teddy Silverman, Sharky Smalling, and Natalie Valencia.

The exhibition showcases a variety of artistic media including painting, sculpture, installation, and digital media, while exploring change and the manipulation of materials and surroundings. Inspired by the idea of alchemy, a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination, these artists work in discourse with themes of representation, memory, and expression.

Rooted in Alchemy is organized by studio art faculty in the Pepperdine Fine Arts Division, in collaboration with the Weisman Museum of Art.
