ARTSReach: Spotlight on Women Artists
March 15–April 11, 2021
Although COVID-19 has temporarily shut our doors, we remain committed to bringing an innovative, unique, entertaining, and diverse program of exceptional performances and museum exhibitions to our audiences. In these challenging times, we all need the joy and wonder the arts give to us.
For Spring 2021, we are pleased to present monthly ARTSReach content, centered around a specific theme. For the month of March, we will be focusing on Spotlight on Women Artists. After registering, you will receive content for use in your classroom or virtual classroom between March 15–April 11, 2021.
Our featured content will include:
- A Sonia De Los Santos Performance
Hailed as "one of the Latin Children's music artists you should know" (Billboard), the GRAMMY-nominated De Los Santos has been performing her positive, multicultural, family-friendly music since 2007. Singing in English and Spanish and playing guitar, mandolin, and jarana, De Los Santos' messages of joyful community, music making, and cultural bridge-building inspire and excite children and grown-ups of all backgrounds.
(Performance Grade Range: K–4) - A live Q&A with Sonia De Los Santos on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST
- Artwork analysis
- An activity guide
- And more!
ARTSReach content is free for teachers and schoolchildren in Los Angeles and Ventura county, but registration is required to access this content. Please register at the link.

FAQ
We are planning to provide a mix of materials each month in spring, and each month will have a different focus! Some examples of what you might see month to month are: pre-recorded performances, activities in visual art or music, downloadable activities for the class, and "live" interaction with an artist or staff/students when possible (for example, we are planning a live Q&A with Jazzy Ash in March!). We're hoping that giving teachers more control of when they use the pre-recorded content mixed with occasional live meetings will make it possible for more schools to participate (even if they can't make the live events).
YES! We actually encourage every classroom to register separately. Since ARTSReach is grant-funded, having it structured this way will help us get an accurate count on the number of classes and students. So feel free to share the email with all of your fellow teachers, but please have every teacher register for their own students.
No limit per school! Anyone who might have interest in the materials is encouraged to register.
